Wesley One Month

I'm going to try to take pictures of Wesley every month for the first year to be able to see how much he has changed. My sister does that with my niece and I like finding out how much she is changing. 

The first month of Wesley's life was spent getting to know this little guy. It was fun to see him do all of the little things he used to do inside of me. And then see him experience all kinds of new things, and the look of surprise that would come on his face when he sneezed for the first time, or ate for the first time, or went outside for the first time. 

He was born knowing how to do a lot things that take other babies a little longer to know how to do. Like he could hold his head up quite well, and was really strong right from the start. He likes to tilt his head way back, and won't let you bend it forward, for instance. He also started smiling from day 1. A lot of the time it was in his sleep, but he also did it when you would talk to him. 

He started making some other noises this month, little sighs, coos, and grunts. Also he learned how to scream. My mom says we can tease him about it later, and should get it on tape because it is so high pitched and girly. Its pretty funny. We went to the doctor a lot this month, for me and for him. He grew a ton! At his 2 week checkup he was back to birth weight, and then a week later he was 9lb 8oz. He also grew 1 1/2 inches, making him 22 1/2 inches. He is in the 99%ile for height, and 97%ile for head size. Sheesh. 

We love him so much already, and honestly can't get enough of this little guy. Even when I was completely sleep deprived in the hospital, it was hard to take my eyes off of him.  Here are some pictures we got of him.
