Wesley has changed so much this last month! I feel like day to day he is becoming a different person, and showing us his personality more.
Wesley is definitely working on becoming mobile. He is rolling really well now, and climbs all over us when we hold him. He know where he wants to go and flings himself that direction. He is pretty good at getting there too. He can get on his hands and knees and is trying really hard to start crawling. He can go from sitting to hands and knees well, or pretty much any position he wants to. He can scoot to face a different direction when he is sitting, lifting his bum up to do it. I will look away for a minute, and he is in a totally different place when I look back. Yikes!
He is really really good at exploring with his hands. He uses both hands together to explore toys now. He loves spinning things right now. Pinwheels, toilet paper rolls, toys that spin, etc. He also likes opening and closing things. Books, his toy laptop, etc. He can turn the light switch by his changing table on and off, which is fun. He can maneuver big toys around, and figure out how they work. He loves banging things too. His toy piano, one toy against another, etc. He is really curious about everything! He discovered gravity, and will grab things out of my hands to drop them.
He is also becoming really opinionated. He knows who he wants to hold him, and how. And he won't settle for any different than how he wants it. He will lunge for me or Brigham if he wants us to hold him. And then climb to the position he wants us to hold him in.
He loves stairs, and laughs big belly laughs when he watches Brigham go up or down stairs. Its funny somehow to him. He loves being outside still, and smiles and laughs when we start to go outside. He also loves ceiling fans we've discovered as we look at houses. He gets super excited watching other kids play, and wants so much to join in. We go to the park to let him watch kids a lot, and talk to other moms. He loves baths still, and splashing. His new game is to roll on his stomach during diaper changes, and stick his bum in the air and have me pat it. Luckily hasn't happened with a poopy diaper change yet.
He hates the sound of packing tape. Not so good considering we have starting packing.
He is doing really well with eating. He can pick up food and get it to his mouth really well, and bite pieces off and chew them. Although some foods like broccoli are too fun to break apart, and he can't be bothered with eating them. His favorite foods are cantaloupe, cucumber, watermelon, and sweet potatoes. He loves sharing my yogurt with me too. He makes the greatest faces with sour things like oranges or strawberries, but goes back for more. Meal times are super messy, especially as he has started to love dropping stuff.
He is still not sleeping well and wakes up every hour most nights. Exhausting! He might be having separation anxiety, or teething, or reflux, or who knows what.
He is looking like a redhead in some lights, still has brown birth hair, and the back of his head looks blond. Who knows what will win out!
I am convinced that this is the best age, and keep telling Wesley to slow down growing up. He is such a joy and blessing to us and I have never felt happier or more exhausted at the same time. Love this kid so much!!!

So cute! I really enjoy the phase between now and a year (or whenever they develop an attitude and can also run away from you...)
Yep, he's your kid alright. Love the funny faces and the cute rolls! I think he's going to be blond to fit in with his 13 cousins.
